Hair care created specifically for multiracial kids? Formulated by a doctor?! Who could ask for more? That is exactly what the Many Ethnicities line is. I’ve followed them on social media and thought what a great idea that was, so when they reached out to me to find out if I would like some products to try for free I of course said YES! I was excited to get them to try out on my kids hair not only for ourselves, but also so I could let my community know our thoughts on the line.

We got the kids shampoo, conditioner, and leave-in conditioner (along with a few travel sized bottles of their “adult” line) about a month and a half ago. I wanted to give it a try more than once so I could give my best and honest opinion about the products.

Even though it was already said… I want to make it more obvious… We got these products for FREE but the opinions are all my own and honest. They asked us to review them but I will only write our true feelings on here because I want to let our readers know if something is worth it or what isn’t worth it. I completely know how tight money can be and would never want to recommend a product that isn’t worth it.

First lets just start off with some basics about the company and the products. They were created by Dr. Ena Hennegan who was inspired by her three daughters and their unique hair care needs. It was created in 2013 after “years of frustration” of trying to find shampoo’s and conditioners that worked for their, as well as her, hair. She worked with skilled scientists to create a blend that would be catered to multiracial / multiethnic hair. The products are free from “Sulfates, Parabens, Gluten, Dyes, Phthalates, Mineral Oil, Petroleum, and EXCUSES!” They also include premium ingredients such as:  Hydrolyzed Pea Protein, Argan, Avocado, Moringa, Jojoba, and Sweet Almond Oils, Shea Butter, and Vitamin B5. They are made right in the United States and are an independent, minority, woman owned company.  All these things to me sound like… YES, YES, & YES.

We used the Kids Gentle Shampoo, Light Kids Conditioner, and the Leave-In Kids Conditioner for over a month so I could get a good feel on how the products worked. Our thoughts?



Pros:

  • They smell great and clean. They don’t smell chemically, but just have this fresh, clean smell to them that we love. I also can smell the Sweet Almond Oils which I love. My daughter also likes how they smell.
  • You get a decent amount of product in the packages. Speaking of the packages… they are so unique! They open differently than any other shampoo & conditioner that I’ve seen before.
  • The Shampoo cleans really nicely and gets a nice lather going.
  • The Conditioner provided nice slip and its also CURLY GIRL METHOD approved!
  • THE LEAVE-IN CONDITIONER! Overall this was my favorite product. It has a good amount of product in it and it moisturizes my girls hair so nicely. We used it to help refresh next day curls and it worked amazing. Cons:

  • Honestly the only con that I could think of is the price. Now keep in mind It is marketed as a Premium product line so of course it is going to be priced higher because it has higher quality ingredients. We aren’t a premium product family (aka I am cheap and like to budget) so the price tag is a bit steep for us. Currently as of publishing the Kids Shampoo is listed as $22 , the Kids Conditioner is $21 , and the Leave-In Conditioner is $21. They also have the set of all 3 for $56 right now.

Overall:

  • The products worked really well and smell great. The bottle design is unique and I love that the products were designed specifically by and for multiracial people. Would I buy again?

  • Now technically I didn’t buy these. I was luckily sent them for free to test out. With that said to be honest I probably wouldn’t buy the Shampoo and Conditioner again, only because they aren’t in our budget. I did REALLY like them though. If my daughter had less hair I might be able to justify it but I have to use almost a quarter of the bottle each wash for her. Now… the Leave-In Conditioner? I could justify spending the money on that. It goes a lot farther and I can use it after baths and also in the mornings to refresh their curls. It is definitely worth the money in my book.  I mean take a look at the before, after washing, when it dried, and next day refresh. #IamME

Can’t forget about my son! His curls look great too with the Many Ethnicities line! Take a look at his curls and how happy he is.
