Cantu Care for Kids Review – Nourishing Shampoo & Curling Creme

Long time no see! Yes.. yes… I know.. I haven’t written in a while but I am back! Today is going to be a post I have been wanting to do but needed to spend more time using the products before reviewing.

Today we are reviewing the Cantu Care for Kids Tear-Free Nourishing Shampoo and their Curling Crème.

Both are available for purchase through Amazon and your local Walmart or Target.

We use these products in conjunction with other products. Here are our simple steps that we have been trying lately.

1. Wash the roots only with the Cantu Care for Kids Tear Free Nourishing Shampoo.

2. Soak the hair with conditioner. We have been using Mane n’ Tail Conditioner combined with these two cheap Argan Oil and Keritan Treatment Conditioners we found at our local Big Lots. You can use different conditioners. One that has proven to be VERY helpful for a lot of curly hair folks is the Suave Essentials Conditioner in Coconut. Since you use a lot in this step I recommend buying bigger bottles to save yourself money I the long run. You want the hair to be coated.

3. Comb the product through with a wide tooth comb. We use the Suave Shower Comb because it is easier to hold onto and not lose in the tub. Start at the bottom and work your way up to the roots. Holding the hair above where you are combing to help prevent pain.

4. Rinse most of the conditioner out but not all. Coat the hair in a leave-in conditioner. We have been using the Cantu Care for Kids Curling Crème for this step. Again you want to be generous with this step and the amount. Comb it through again. Make sure to get all the way from roots to ends.

5. Seal the moisture in with some sort of hair oil. We have been using Righteous Roots Pre-Poo oil (available soon). Concentrate on the ends first and work your way up.

THATS IT!! We have been trying this method out for the last few weeks and really like it. Its super simple and easy. Before this we were using the Curly Kids line. We still really like that line and process but we’ve been wanting to try something new out.

In conclusion: The squeeze tube for the Curling Crème makes it really easy to use in the tub (which is helpful when dealing with 2 wriggly kids.) The Nourishing Shampoo is Tear Free too which is definitely important when it comes to by 2 year old because he doesn’t like to listen when I tell him to look up when rinsing. Its not expensive which is great! They have a ton of other products that I’ve been wanting to try out too. Specifically I want to try out their Conditioning Detangler. Have any of you tried it? What are your thoughts? We did this process on a rainy Sunday and it held up through a birthday party full of candy and dancing and fun. (LOOK AT MY CUTIE UP THERE IN THAT PIC!! OMG).

We also used this method with the Cantu Care products for Easter on both kids. Except my son doesn’t get the conditioner and detangling step. We just go from shampoo to the Curling Crème since his hair is so short.

Final thoughts on the Cantu Care for Kids: Easy to use, inexpensive, nice range of products, defines and moisturizes their curls well, and stands up well to crazy kids.
